A big hello from the North Staffs Social Inclusion and Recovery Service
I hope you are all enjoying the summer with it’s mixed offerings. Please keep us in mind if you, or you know anyone struggling with their mental health.
Here’s some words from a service user to show some of the real life impact our service can have:

What areas do we cover?
All of North Staffordshire including the Staffordshire Moorlands and Newcastle Under Lyme.
What do we offer?
Please see attached timetable for an overview of our services.
We are now offering Mental Health Advice drop in’s.
The drop in’s aim at providing an easy way to provide mental health support, signposting and easy access to other Rethink services.
We request that where possible people book slots in advance to ensure they will be seen on 01538 387111.
We have Drop in’s at the following locations during June:
Cheadle & Werrington
Cheadle CAB - 3rd Tuesday of every month (Tuesday 17th September) 2-4pm.
Cheadle foodbank - Wednesday 18th September 9.30-11am
Friday 27th September 1.30-3pm
Werrington Library – 2nd Monday & Friday of every month (Monday 9th & Friday 13th September 2.30-4)
A weekly Monday Drop in 1-3pm-– Haregate Community Centre
Wednesday 11th & 25th September – Knypersley room, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, Stockwell Street. 10am-12pm
Monthly Drop in is the first Monday every month (2nd September) – 11am – 1pm
The Chesterton One Stop Shop
- A weekly Tuesday Drop in (serving the Chesterton, Talke, Audley and Wood Lane areas). – 1pm-3pm.
–A weekly Drop in based in town centre at the Guildhall every Wednesday 11am-1pm.
Newcastle Under Lyme College (outside of the foodhall)
- Monday 9th September-12-2pm Promotional Event – Come and say hello
Tuesday 24th September 1-3 – A mental health drop in for student to attend.
We are currently looking to develop this service into other areas, taking support out to some of the more isolated communities. If you know of an area that would benefit from a regular Mental health advice surgery in the North Staffs or Staffs Moorlands areas, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
One to One support
· Regular Peer run Groups Running in Newcastle, Cheadle, and leek areas, contact us for more information or send us a referral if you think someone would benefit from attending.

We are currently taking names of interested people in order to run another living life to the full, please let us know if you know anyone who would be interested. Living Life to The Full is an easy to follow 8 week course which looks at coping strategies and ways to better manage mental health
We also have the very well received WRAP training, and are taking names of interested people in a view to run another course. Please let us know if you have anyone you think would benefit from attending.
The Wrap training is an 8-week course that provides all the guidance needed to complete a Wellness Recovery Action Plan, in order to help people better manage their mental health.

John Hall Garden will be opening every Wednesday and Thursday 10 – 3:30 and Saturday 21st September- 9am-4pm to the public. Come along to our paradise and buy some plants or sit in our wonderful garden and enjoy the view with a cup of tea or coffee.
A call to anyone wanting to volunteer. We have a few options available for anyone wanting to volunteer with our service, roles from peer support, peer group running, admin or promotion roles are available. We welcome your knowledge and experience to or team and have full training available to anyone wanting to join our team in any capacity.
Rethink Additional Housing Management services
Rethink also have a local tenancy support service which provides high quality accommodation and low level housing management support for people affected by mental illness aged 18 years and above, who are at risk of not accessing or sustaining a home because of their mental health, vulnerability and/or a history of housing related problems. We have a variety of accommodation available including bedsits, flats and houses in the Leek, Cheadle, Uttoxeter, Biddulph, Stoke and Stafford areas.
