Staff Training - Thursday 21st March

The surgery will be closed for Staff Training on Thursday 21st March from 1.00pm and will re-open on Friday 22nd March at 8.00am.


Digital Support with MPFT at Leek Library Thursday 15th April 10am-12pm

Come along and join our FREE Digital drop-in session at Leek Library on Monday 15th April between 10am-12pm.

Our friendly knowledgeable digital team are there to support the community with upskilling you with digital skills support and advice. We can support you with how to use your mobile phone, tablet or laptop along with hands on hints and tips to be safe when online. We also offer support with downloading and registering people for the NHS App where you can book appointments and order prescriptions at the touch of a button.


Breast Screening in Leek

Ladies registered with Moorland Medical Centre, aged between 50 and 70 years are eligible for a FREE breast screening every 3 years.

You will be invited to attend an appointment at Newton House, The Co-operative, Leek, ST13 5RG from February 2024 onwards.

Please only contact the screening team once you have received your invitation letter.

Ladies over 70years can self-refer to the service by calling 01785 230861.

Round the clock access to healthcare information

You can now access a wealth of health advice thats clinically tailored to your symptoms.

Online Consult allows you to check your symptoms, receive medical advice and submit a health request directly to your GP through an online portal at any time of day or night. Its simple to use so theres no need to wait in phone queues.

How does Online Consult work?

Simply fill in a health enquiry form by clicking on this link https://www.online-consult.co.uk/org/moorland-medical-centre outlining your symptoms. Youll then be directed to information articles and videos advising you on how to treat your symptoms and what you may need to do next. The forms are quick and easy to use and tailored to give you help and advice thats specific to your condition.

The forms are sent directly and securely to the practice so we can check your answers and advise you on the most appropriate next step, you may need a face-to-face appointment with the GP or Nurse Practitioner or be signposted to another service by the Care Navigator.

Serving You

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.

Access

Disability access to the building is via the back door and if anyone needs to use it, please ring the bell and someone will let them in. The front door has got a ramp, but a small step into the building.
