Covid Clinics at Moorland Medical Centre

We have now started our Covid-19 Booster clinics, you will be sent a text message or contacted via the phone if you are eligible for a booster.  If you have not heard anything yet you can email moorland.med@nhs.net and we will check this for you.  We are also looking for volunteers to help with the clinics so if you are available please either email Bas Pickering PPG Secretary on  bas.pickering@yahoo.com or moorland.med@nhs.net and we will be in touch with you.

Flu Vaccination

Due to a national delay in the delivery of the Flu Vaccination the surgery is currently unable to book any further appointments.  We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause but as soon as we receive a further delivery of the vaccine we will send notifications out to our eligible patients to book an appointment.

Please let the surgery know if you have changed your contact details, e.g. mobile number or home address.

All Staff at Moorland Medical Centre work hard to provide an excellent service to our patients

We are not here to suffer physical, or verbal abuse from patients, their relatives or members of the Public.

This practice operates a zero-tolerance policy with regards to violence or abuse. ANY patient or their relative who use threatening or offensive behaviour, either verbal or physical, in person or via the telephone or social media could be removed from the practice in order to protect our staff and other patients.

Appointments

Surgery opening times:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm

Appointments are usually available from 8am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 5.20pm.

Each appointment lasts for 12 minutes and we ask you to try and bring one problem to each appointment. You may consult with any of the doctors but for ongoing problems we prefer you to stay with one doctor if possible to provide better continuity of care.

If you at any time would like a chaperone to support you during your consultation, please inform the doctor or the nurse and this can be arranged. Occasionally there may be a short delay whilst a suitable chaperone is arranged.

To book an appointment ring 01538 399008.

When booking a routine appointment you will be offered the first available appointment.

If it is urgent that you see a practitioner today you will be offered an appointment. If you ring in the morning you will be offered a morning appointment. If you ring after 1pm you will be offered an afternoon appointment.

We also offer a late evening surgery on a Monday 6.30pm – 8.45pm

If you wish to speak to a practitioner on the telephone you can ring for a telephone appointment (routine or urgent appointment) and the practitioner will call you back near to the allotted time.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. You can leave a message on our new telephone system by ringing 01538 399008 and pressing option 2.
